Bishop Mande Muyombo Visits Asbury North

Bishop Mande Muyombo Visits Asbury North

On May 11, 2017, Asbury North hosted a dinner for Bishop Mande Muyombo from the North Katanga Conference of the Democratic Republic of the Congo.  He was elected bishop on March 18, 2017, and is the first graduate of Africa University to be elected a bishop.  While at the university, he once was a student of retired Professor Ethel Johnson.

In addition to Pastor Michaela Jasper and the congregation from Asbury North, Bishop Muyombo was warmly greeted by Bishop Gregory V. Palmer and visitors from other churches throughout the West Ohio Conference.  He spoke of the assistance he received from the United Methodist Church throughout his life.  As a bishop, he plans to continue the progress that Bishop Ntambo has made in the conference.
